Alissa C. Briggs

Alissa C. Briggs, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky and a licensed psychologist at Kentucky Children's Hospital (KCH). She specializes in adolescent medicine, focusing on neurodevelopmental and mood disorders, and integrates mental health interventions with systemic school-family collaborations.

• Education: Doctorate in School Psychology from Loyola University Chicago (2012).

Her research emphasizes promoting youth well-being through school-based systemic interventions and advancing social justice in school psychology training. She co-leads the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Social Justice Interest Group and collaborates with UK's school psychology and family sciences programs. During the pandemic, she contributed to adolescent telemedicine initiatives at KCH, ensuring continuity of mental health care via virtual platforms.
