Dr Alison Scope is a Research Fellow in the Department of Allied Health Professions at Sheffield Hallam University. She joined in 2022 to lead the STAMINA programme, a randomised controlled trial evaluating exercise interventions for men with prostate cancer undergoing androgen deprivation therapy. Previously, she worked at the University of Sheffield (2005–2022) in psychology and ScHARR, focusing on behavioral interventions, mental health, and developmental disorders. She holds a PhD in cognitive developmental psychology from Sheffield Hallam University.
Her research spans behavior change, mental health (including postnatal depression and diabetes-related quality of life), and developmental disorders. Notable projects include systematic reviews on art therapy efficacy, cost-effectiveness analyses of healthcare interventions, and studies on hypoglycaemia impacts in diabetes. She has contributed to NHS payment models for antimicrobials and guidelines for colorectal cancer surveillance.
Publications highlight her work in health technology assessment, pharmacoeconomics, and behavioral interventions. Collaborations include NIHR-funded studies and multinational consortia like Hypo-RESOLVE. Her work emphasizes translating evidence into clinical practice through rigorous trials and cost-effectiveness evaluations.
