Alison Plante is a Professor and former Chair of the Film Scoring Department at Berklee College of Music, recognized as the first female chair of a collegiate film scoring department. She specializes in music composition for film, television, theater, and multimedia installations, with credits including documentaries for PBS and the Smithsonian Institution. Her work spans national television ads, independent films, and live-action/animated shorts.
Plante holds degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of Cambridge. She is also a skilled keyboardist, wind instrumentalist, and conductor, with experience in gamelan ensembles. She founded Treble Cove Music, her scoring business, and has contributed to Berklee's online programs, including authoring courses like Professional Film Scoring Skills 1: Collaboration and Communication.
Her accolades include the Janet Gates Peckham International Award and the Olga and Paul Menn Foundation Prize, reflecting her contributions to the arts.
