معرفی
Alison Pawley is a Senior Lecturer in Earth Sciences at The University of Manchester. Her research focuses on the impact of airborne dust on aircraft engines, halogen partitioning in mantle phases, and the stability of hydrous minerals in subduction zones. She holds a BA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge (1986) and a PhD in Experimental Studies of Amphiboles from Edinburgh (1990).
- Academic Background:
- Senior Lecturer, University of Manchester (2004–present)
- Lecturer, University of Manchester (1995–2004)
- Postdoctoral Research Assistant, University of Bristol (1993–1994)
Her work combines experimental petrology with numerical modeling to address challenges in aviation safety and Earth's volatile cycles. Current projects include studying CMAS melt inhibition in turbine engines and halogen behavior in mantle systems. She collaborates widely, including on the DUST research group's engine-dust interaction studies. Her lab focuses on high-pressure mineral characterization and subduction zone processes.
