Alison Downey is an Associate Professor of Library Science and Coordinator of Technical Services at Valparaiso University. She acts as a liaison to the Psychology/Counseling, Social Work, Political Science, and Education departments and manages the Technical Services department, overseeing cataloging processes and serving as the primary technical services liaison to OCLC. She also acts as co-systems administrator for the university's integrated library system.

Research Interests: Alison specializes in Information and Library Science (ILS) management, technical services, instructional strategies, government information dissemination, and mental health considerations within library environments. Her work bridges administrative leadership with practical applications in cataloging and systems management.

Personal Interests: A native of northwest Indiana, she enjoys geocaching, visiting local libraries, reading humorous books, and spending time with her family and at Lake Michigan. She is a devoted fan of the TV show The Office.
