Alison Castel is an Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Communication Studies at Regis College, specializing in critical approaches to conflict, narrative, and dialogue. She combines academic rigor with practical engagement in peacebuilding and communication pedagogy.

- M.S.Ed in Intercultural Communication from the University of Pennsylvania
- Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University's Carter School for Peace and Conflict Studies
Her research focuses on narrative dynamics in transitional justice processes, particularly in Colombia's peace efforts, and extends to analyzing race-related narratives in the U.S. She has over two decades of experience in peace and conflict studies, including fieldwork in Israel/Palestine, Indonesia, Rwanda, Colombia, and Northern Ireland, emphasizing intersections between national policies and grassroots perspectives.
Dr. Castel's work examines how narratives shape voice, power, and agency in conflict contexts, advocating for narrative-driven strategies to reduce violence and marginalization. Her teaching includes leadership in the Peace and Conflict Studies program at the University of Colorado-Boulder before joining Regis College.
