Professor Alisher Kadyrov is a theoretical physicist and faculty member at Curtin University's School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences (EECMS), within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He also holds a portfolio position in the Office of the Provost. Kadyrov specializes in scattering theory, atomic and molecular collisions, few-body systems, and nuclear astrophysics. His research has significantly advanced understanding of fundamental collision processes and nuclear astrophysical reactions. He holds prestigious fellowships from the American Physical Society (APS) and the Australian Institute of Physics (AIP), recognizing his contributions to the field.
Education: PhD (1993) from Lomonosov Moscow State University, MSc (1987) and BSc (1985) from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. His academic career includes faculty roles at Murdoch University, Flinders University, and institutions in Germany and Uzbekistan.
Research interests focus on the dynamics of scattering phenomena, nuclear astrophysics reactions, and many-body systems. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with experimental data, contributing to advancements in fusion plasma modeling and atomic collisional data.
Key awards include the Pro Vice Chancellor Researcher of the Year Award (2017), APS Fellowship (2018), and multiple early-career recognitions, including the European Academy Gold Medal (1996). Kadyrov leads the Theoretical Physics Group at Curtin, mentoring numerous PhD students and postdocs.
His teaching includes advanced courses on Quantum Mechanics and Nuclear & Particle Physics. Collaborative projects involve experimental teams globally, with a focus on computational modeling and theoretical validation of collision processes.
