Alireza Shayesteh

Alireza Shayesteh is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the State University of New York at Oswego. His research focuses on molecular spectroscopy, quantum chemistry, and computational chemistry, with emphasis on electronic states of molecules, ab initio calculations, and spectroscopic analysis. He holds a PhD from the University of Waterloo (2006) and a BS from the University of Isfahan (2001).

His research interests include studying excited electronic states of molecules, particularly in diatomic and triatomic systems, analyzing high-resolution electronic spectra, and calculating spectral line intensities. He also investigates spin-orbit coupling, perturbations in molecular spectra, and luminescence properties of organic/inorganic compounds. His work spans theoretical studies of potential energy curves, transition dipole moments, and reaction mechanisms in gas-phase environments.

Recent studies highlight advancements in thermally activated delayed fluorescence in organic compounds, spin-orbit effects in CuH and AgH, and multi-isotopologue analyses of molecular spectra. His publications reflect expertise in spectroscopic techniques like Fourier transform emission spectroscopy and deperturbation analysis for rovibronic transitions.

Shayesteh's contributions include Einstein A coefficient calculations for astronomical molecules like CaH, structural stability studies of proteins via molecular dynamics, and experimental/theoretical collaborations on metal hydrides (e.g., MgH, ZnH). His work bridges computational modeling and experimental spectroscopy to understand molecular behavior at electronic and vibrational levels.
