Alireza Shamkhalchian

Alireza Shamkhalchian is a Postgraduate Researcher at the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Southampton. He holds a BSc and MSc in Hydraulic Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, and has been involved in academic activities through research projects, teaching, and publications.

Research Interests: His work focuses on Numerical Modelling of Open Channel Flows, particularly High-Performance Numerical Models for Large-Scale Flood Inundation. Key areas include

Professional Background: From 2008–2014, he worked as an expert, project manager, and director at a consulting engineering company. In 2015, he joined the University of Southampton as an iPhD student.
