Alina Loth

Dr. Alina Loth serves as Head of the Public Engagement and Impact unit at the Museum of Natural History Leibniz Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity Research in Berlin, Germany. Her department drives sustainable research culture transformation through strategic development, capacity building, and impact-oriented initiatives including the Impact-oriented Public Engagement (IETI) project and the Berlin School of Public Engagement and Open Science.

Her research focuses on Public Engagement and Science Communication methodologies, with specialization in Research Impact alignment, Open Science implementation, and systemic Research Culture Change. She develops frameworks for measuring societal impact and trains researchers in effective public engagement strategies through internationalized programs.

Dr. Loth leads the Berlin School of Public Engagement and Open Science and the IETI project, directing teams that create innovative formats for science-society interaction. Her work integrates impact research, methodology development, and strategic consultation to advance the institute's mission of embedding scientific research within societal contexts through evidence-based public engagement practices.
