Aliko Songolo is a Visiting Professor of French & Francophone Literatures at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research focuses on Francophone literatures of Africa, the Caribbean, and France, along with Francophone cinemas of Africa.
Current research projects explore postcoloniality in the context of the Négritude movement and the cinematic representation of Aimé Césaire's work.
Professor Songolo was honored as Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques by the French government and previously held the Halverson-Bascom Professorship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
