Alicja Bińkowska

Alicja Bińkowska, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, Poland. She serves as the Head of the DrugsTeam within the Neurocognitive Research Center (NCRC). Her primary affiliation is with the Institute of Psychology, where she contributes to advancing neurocognitive studies.

Research Focus: Dr. Bińkowska specializes in investigating the effects of cannabis on human cognition and brain function. Her thematic areas include:

• Neurocognitive impacts of recreational marijuana use
• Therapeutic applications of cannabis
• Psychophysiological correlates of long-term substance use

Key Projects: She is a core researcher in the project Effects of Long-Term Use of Cannabis and Tobacco on Cognitive Functions (2019–2020), funded by the Ministry of Education and Science. This study examines cognitive and brain function differences among cannabis users, tobacco smokers, and non-users using EEG and biochemical hair analysis.

Collaborations: She collaborates with the Polish Psychedelic Society and contributes to interdisciplinary teams like the DrugsTeam and PlasticityTeam. Her work addresses socially significant issues related to substance legalization and public health.
