Alicia Wireman

Dr. Alicia Wireman serves as Chair of Humanities and Communication Arts and Associate Professor of Communication at Indiana Tech’s College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Global Leadership (Indiana Tech, 2017), M.A. in Professional Communication (Purdue Fort Wayne, 2011), and B.A. in English (Grand Valley State, 2009). Her professional experience spans 14+ years in academia, including roles as department chair, course developer, and instructional innovator.

Dr. Wireman expanded Indiana Tech’s communication programs with specialized tracks in journalism, graphic design, and sports media. Her teaching innovations earned the 2023 Leepoxy Award for integrating industry professionals into curricula. She contributed to university strategic planning and maintains certifications in graphic design, TESOL, and intercultural communication. Active in professional organizations like the National Communication Association, she publishes and presents widely on leadership education, pedagogy, and global classroom dynamics.

Her research explores transformative education models, generational pedagogy, and interdisciplinary learning. Over 20 conference presentations and peer-reviewed articles highlight her work in communication studies, academic leadership, and inclusive teaching strategies.
