Dr. Alice den Otter is an Associate Professor at Lakehead University's Orillia Campus, affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Studies Department. She previously taught in the English Department at the Thunder Bay Campus for ten years before transitioning to her current role in 2006. Actively involved in academic leadership, she serves as Acting Chair for Interdisciplinary Studies and coordinates the HBASc and BASc interdisciplinary college transfer programs.

Her research focuses on Romantic literature, particularly William Blake, with interests spanning literary theory, gender studies, rhetoric, and gift exchange. She has edited the book Relocating Praise: Literary Modalities and Rhetorical Contexts and is currently working on a new monograph exploring William Blake's connections to gift exchange.
At Lakehead University, she teaches advanced courses including William Blake (English 4010 FAO), Introduction to Literary Theory (English 2913 FAO), and History of English Literature II (English 2251 FAO). Her interdisciplinary approach bridges literary analysis with broader cultural and theoretical frameworks.
