Alice Dias Lopes is a Lecturer in Data and Education at the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Research in Digital Education. Her work focuses on social stratification, education policy, and international student mobility. She holds a PhD in Education from the University of Edinburgh, an MSc in International Comparative Education from Stanford University, and a BA in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
Her research examines education policies in South America and the UK, particularly their impacts on social and educational inequalities. Current projects include analyzing postgraduate access in the UK and labor market outcomes for doctoral graduates. She teaches 'Introduction to Social Research Methods' in the MSc in Digital Education program and is open to PhD supervision.
Her publications span topics like Brexit's effects on EU student mobility, tuition fee impacts on international students, and affirmative action policies in Brazil. She employs large datasets to explore systemic inequalities in education and labor markets.
