Alice Besterman is an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia, affiliated with the Department of Biological Sciences and Department of Environmental Sciences. Her research focuses on coastal ecosystems, climate resilience, and environmental monitoring, particularly examining disturbance recovery in estuaries, salt marsh adaptation, and interactions between geomorphology and invasive species. She utilizes high-frequency data analysis and ecological modeling to study climate impacts on aquatic environments.
