Dr. Ali Saber is an Assistant Professor at the School of the Environment, University of Windsor. His research focuses on ensuring sustainability and resilience of aquatic systems through advanced modeling, AI applications, and field/laboratory experiments. He holds a Ph.D. (2019) and M.Sc. (2013) in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and a B.Sc. (2010) in Civil Engineering.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2019)
- M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2013)
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (2010)
Research Interests: Proactive solutions for climate change impacts on water systems, hydrodynamic-water quality modeling, watershed-aquatic ecosystem interactions, AI-driven environmental studies, and wastewater treatment. Uses 3D modeling, machine learning, and signal processing tools to assess flooding risks and contaminant transport.
Previous Positions:
- 2023–Present: Assistant Professor at University of Windsor
- 2022–2023: Water Quality Scientist at WSP Inc.
- 2022: Assistant Professor at Saint Louis University
- 2020–2022: Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Toronto
- 2019–2020: Research Faculty at University of Nevada
Labs/Teams: Engages in interdisciplinary research through collaborations with industry (e.g., WSP Inc.) and academic institutions, focusing on climate resilience and environmental modeling.
