Ali Payaziti is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Social Sciences, South East European University (SEEU) in Tetovo, North Macedonia, where he has served full-time since 2002 teaching Ethics, Sociology, and Anthropology courses.
He earned his PhD in Sociology (2003) and MA in Sociology and Anthropology (2008) from Marmara University, Istanbul, with doctoral research focusing on William Montgomery Watt's sociological interpretation of Islam and master's work examining social transition in Macedonia.
Payaziti's research centers on the sociology of religion, multiculturalism, and ethnic relations in the Balkans, particularly North Macedonia. His work analyzes religion-politics dynamics in post-communist societies, recent pandemic impacts on religious practices, and public sociology's role in contemporary contexts through extensive publications spanning books and academic articles.
His scholarly output reveals consistent thematic engagement with societal transformation through cultural and religious diversity lenses, addressing higher education challenges, social values crises, and interreligious dialogue in multiethnic settings.
