Dr. Ali Mazalek is a Professor at the RTA School of Media, Toronto Metropolitan University, and holds a Canada Research Chair in Digital Media and Innovation. She directs the Synaesthetic Media Lab and leads the Responsive Ecologies Lab, focusing on tangible interaction systems bridging physical and digital worlds.
Her research explores tangible and embodied interaction design for scientific and artistic creativity, using frameworks from embodied cognition. Applications range from scientific modeling to interactive narratives. She holds degrees from the University of Toronto (BSc) and MIT (MS, PhD).
