Alfredo Andrés Martín García is a Full Professor (Profesor Titular) at the Department of History, Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of León. His research focuses on Early Modern History, Social History, Religious History, and Gender Studies.
His academic work extensively explores the Franciscan Third Order (VOT) in the Iberian Peninsula and colonial Americas, analyzing its medieval origins, 18th-century revival post-Trent reforms, and socio-economic bases. He has coordinated monographic issues on secular Franciscanism and studied female transgressions in Iberian ecclesiastical records.
