Prof. Dr. Alexis Kivi serves as Professor and Deputy Spokesperson for Music Education Teaching at the University of Music Würzburg (Hochschule für Musik Würzburg). Dr. Kivi earned his doctorate from the Berlin University of the Arts in 2015 after serving as a research assistant there from 2009-2015. His academic background includes studies in music education and mathematics in Berlin, followed by teaching these subjects at Nordseegymnasium St. Peter-Ording after completing his teaching internship.
His research focuses on interdisciplinary teaching models, school teaching didactics, and international comparative music education. Dr. Kivi has held visiting and acting professorships at institutions in Koblenz, Berlin, and Dresden, and served as Professor of Music Didactics at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz from 2021-2023 before joining Würzburg.
Within the university structure, he is affiliated with the Music Education Teaching department (Fachgruppe Musikpädagogik Lehramt), where he contributes to both theoretical frameworks and practical applications of music pedagogy in educational settings.
