Alexis G. Malkin

Alexis G. Malkin is an Associate Professor of Optometry and Attending Optometrist at multiple institutions including the NECO Center for Eye Care, Boston University Eye Associates, The Cotting School, and Boston Medical Center. She holds a Doctor of Optometry (OD) from New England College of Optometry, completed a residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation and Vision Therapy at Northport VA Hospital, and a Lions Vision Rehabilitation Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Her research focuses on low vision rehabilitation, quality of life metrics, and technology applications in vision care. Notable contributions include studies on EQ-5D responsiveness in low vision patients and analysis of functional complaints among outpatient low vision service users.

Awarded 'America’s Best Eye Doctors' by Newsweek (2021, 2022), Dr. Malkin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and maintains active membership in professional organizations like the American Academy of Optometry and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
