Alexia Zimbler

Alexia Zimbler is a Senior Lecturer and Joint Head of Department for Professional Programmes at City St George's, University of London. With over 25 years of practice at the Bar specializing in Criminal and Family Law, she transitioned to academia in 2020, bringing her expertise to legal education. She leads the Advanced Criminal Advocacy elective and contributes to the award-winning Pupillage Advisory Service.

Alexia's research focuses on Single Best Answer (SBA) and MCQ assessment processes, aiming to bridge legal and medical education post-St George's Medical School merger. Her advocacy interests include psychology in Crown Court trials and U.S. 'trial science' influences on jury selection.

She contributes to legal education through roles as:

• External Examiner for the Bar Standards Board (2014–2019)
• Advocacy Trainer with the Advocacy Training Council (ATC)
• Pupillage Supervisor (since 2005)
• Assessor for Higher Rights of Audience (SRA)

Her awards include Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (HEA) since 2022. She actively promotes legal careers for students from minority/disadvantaged backgrounds.
