Alexei Y. Kitaev

Alexei Y. Kitaev is the Ronald and Maxine Linde Professor of Theoretical Physics and Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology. He holds a dual appointment in theoretical physics and mathematics, reflecting his interdisciplinary research focus.

His research interests revolve around quantum information theory, topological quantum phases, and black hole physics. Notable contributions include the concept of topological quantum computing using Majorana chains and the development of a Hamiltonian model mimicking quantum black hole behavior.
