Alexandra Weisberg

Alexandra Weisberg is Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Oregon State University's College of Agricultural Sciences. Her Cordley Hall laboratory focuses on evolutionary mechanisms in plant-microbe interactions using genomic and computational approaches.

Research examines mobile genetic elements' role in pathogen evolution across agricultural systems, with emphasis on Agrobacterium, Streptomyces, and Phytophthora species. Current projects integrate genomics, molecular biology, and field epidemiology to track disease emergence and microbial adaptation.

The Weisberg Lab employs bioinformatic pipelines (e.g., Beav annotation tool) for comparative genomics and develops genomic epidemiology methods for plant pathogens.
