Prof. Dr. Alexandra Vivien Dorschu is a full professor at Hochschule Ruhr West – University of Applied Sciences Ruhr West, serving within the Institute of Mechanical Engineering. As Studiengangsleiterin of the women-oriented Mechanical Engineering programme, she leads curriculum development and pedagogical innovation for inclusive engineering education.
Her teaching and research focus on Mathematics, Mechanics and STEM-Education, with a particular emphasis on gender-sensitive didactic approaches that aim to broaden participation in engineering. She designs, evaluates and refines learning environments that integrate rigorous technical content with evidence-based pedagogical strategies.
