Alexandra Pye

Alexandra Pye is a Research Fellow with the Group 18 Laboratories at Arizona State University and a Geochronologist at the New Mexico Geochronology Research Laboratory. She holds a PhD in Geological Sciences from Arizona State University and a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of St Andrews.

Alexandra's research focuses on applying geochronology and thermochronology to understand geological processes such as mountain range evolution, lunar meteorite impact dating, and tectonic detachments in the Himalaya. She integrates fieldwork, geochronological data, and thermal-kinematic modeling in her studies.

Her expertise spans continental tectonics, with a particular emphasis on the South Tibetan Detachment System. She also investigates potential evidence of the Late Heavy Bombardment in lunar meteorites.
