Professor Alexandra J. Lansky is a Professor of Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and holds a dual appointment as Chair of Cardiovascular Research at Queen Mary University of London’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. She directs the Yale Heart and Vascular Clinical Research Program and leads the Cardiovascular Research Center (YCRC), specializing in national/international cardiovascular clinical trials. Her work focuses on interventional devices and neuroprotection in cardiac procedures, including pivotal trials like DEFLECT and REFLECT.
Her research interests include:
- Clinical impact of silent embolic events during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
- Neurocognitive outcomes and cerebral protection strategies
- Evaluation of bioresorbable polymer drug-eluting stents (DES)
- Development of neuro-deflection devices to reduce brain lesions during cardiovascular procedures
- Leadership in academic consortia like NeuroARC to define neurological endpoints in cardiovascular trials
