Dr. ir. Alexandra Gavriilidou is a Lecturer and Researcher at Delft University of Technology’s Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences, Department of Transport and Planning, affiliated with the Active Mode Lab. Her work focuses on understanding cycling behavior, infrastructure interactions, and the impact of pandemic measures on mobility patterns.
Education:
- PhD (2016–2020): TU Delft, ALLEGRO project (queuing & yielding behavior of cyclists)
- MSc Civil Engineering (Transport & Planning Track), TU Delft
- MSc Mechanical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
Research Interests: She investigates microscopic cycling dynamics, active mode mobility strategies, and post-COVID behavioral shifts. Her studies bridge theory and practice, addressing infrastructure design and policy implications.
Projects: Leads the MOCOLODO project (NWO-ZonMW-funded) on pandemic-era mobility patterns. Engages in collaborative education programs, such as the TU Delft-BJTU joint BSc thesis coordination.
Teaching: Contributes to courses like ‘Transport & Planning’ and ‘Empirical Analyses for Transport & Planning’, and supervises bachelor’s theses.
