Alexander Tsankov

Alexander Tsankov, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, with appointments in both the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences and the Department of Immunology & Immunotherapy. He leads the Tsankov Laboratory, which uses genomics and computational tools to study lung cancer and respiratory diseases.

Research Interests:

Dr. Tsankov's research focuses on using single-cell transcriptomic, epigenetic, and spatial technologies to build predictive models for lung disease. His lab investigates how lung epithelium interacts with immune and stromal microenvironments in both healthy and diseased states. His work aims to improve diagnostics, identify new therapeutic targets, and personalize treatment for lung cancer and respiratory diseases.
