Alexander Teytelboym serves as Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Oxford and Tutorial Fellow at St. Catherine's College, with additional leadership roles as Deputy Director for Economics of Sustainability at the Smith School for Enterprise and the Environment and Research Fellow at the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School.
His research pioneers market design and network theory applications in environmental economics and refugee resettlement systems. Teytelboym leads the development of matching mechanisms for refugee allocation to optimize humanitarian outcomes, while actively contributing to the Inequality: Measurement, Interpretation, and Policy network through economic disparity analysis. His work bridges theoretical economics with urgent policy challenges in sustainability and migration.
Through Refugees' Say—a initiative he co-founded—Teytelboym operationalizes market design principles for real-world refugee resettlement, collaborating with the Smith School and Oxford Martin School to translate academic research into practical humanitarian solutions.
