Dr. Alexander Stottmeister is a researcher and group leader at the Institute of Theoretical Physics within the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Leibniz University Hannover. His primary research focuses on theoretical and mathematical aspects of quantum theory at the intersection of quantum information theory and quantum field theory. His group explores foundational concepts such as operator-algebraic renormalization, quantum simulation algorithms with error bounds, and applications of classical probability methods to the renormalization group. They also investigate mathematical frameworks for quantum theory, including Schmidt rank, embezzlement, and semi-group theory.
