Dr. Alexander Sosler serves as Assistant Professor of Bible and Ministry and Chair of the Studies in Bible, Theology, and Ministry at Montreat College (since 2018). His academic work bridges practical theology, spiritual formation, and cultural analysis with a focus on the intersection of faith and artistic expression. He holds a B.A. from Southern Evangelical Bible College, an M.Div., and an Ed.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Research interests include theology and the arts, sacramental imagination, and Christian education models. He edits book reviews for the Christian Education Journal and has authored/co-authored works like Learning to Love: Christian Higher Education as Pilgrimage (2024) and Sacramental Imagination (co-written, 2024). His writing appears in venues such as Front Porch Republic and Mockingbird, exploring topics like theology through pop culture (e.g., Breaking Bad, Lord of the Rings).
Award-winning author of A Short Guide to Spiritual Formation (2024), recipient of the 2025 Christian Living Book of the Year. Active in academic and pastoral roles, he serves as Assisting Priest at Redeemer Anglican Church. His speaking engagements span topics like sacramental pedagogy and cultural apologetics, with recent presentations at Baylor University’s Symposium on Faith and Culture and Dordt College’s Prodigal Love Conference.
