Dr. Alexander Savin is a Senior Scientist at OtaNano, Aalto University's national research infrastructure for micro-, nano-, and quantum technologies, and affiliated with the Centre of Excellence in Quantum Technology (QTF). He holds a Doctoral degree in Natural Sciences (1988) and Master's degree in Engineering and Technology (1985), both from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
His research explores quantum phenomena in condensed matter systems, with expertise in:
- Low-temperature physics and cryogenic measurements
- Quantum transport in nanoscale materials
- Superconducting device physics
- Mesoscopic quantum systems
- Nanoelectronic applications
Recent publications (2024) demonstrate focused work on quantum effects in superconductors, helium crystal dynamics at ultralow temperatures, and nanowire-based quantum devices. This body of work shows consistent specialization in experimental investigations of quantum coherence, phase transitions, and emergent phenomena in constrained geometries.
Dr. Savin maintains active research collaborations, including visiting positions at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and contributes to experimental work at Aalto University's Low-Temperature Laboratory.
