Alexander N. Wilson is a Research Fellow at York University, working under Mike Zabrocki. He holds a PhD from Dartmouth College where he was advised by Rosa Orellana. His primary research focuses on combinatorial representation theory, with applications in algebraic combinatorics and symmetric functions.
He actively mentors students in research projects including:
- Sam Thiel (Costello Divisibility algorithm)
- Sofia Goncalves (Magical Mathematics and universal cycles)
- Madeline Jester (tabletop game design)
Wilson develops educational tools such as cipher frequency analyzers, combinatorial rule visualizers, and mathematical puzzles. He co-manages @the_tile_files Instagram showcasing mathematical art and creates pie-based mathematical art inspired by tiling theorems and partition theory.
