Dr. Alexander Morgan serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Health, Sport and Wellness at Baldwin Wallace University, joining the institution in fall 2020. His expertise centers on biomechanics and kinesiology with specialized focus on musculoskeletal health applications.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Kinesiology (Biomechanics emphasis), University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
- M.S., Marquette University
- B.S., Marquette University
Dr. Morgan's research program targets musculoskeletal injury prevention and rehabilitation through the Analysis of Movement & Performance Advancement (AMPA) Laboratory. This student-centered facility trains undergraduates in biomechanical equipment operation for athletic and clinical settings, emphasizing practical skill development. His work bridges theoretical movement science with real-world rehabilitation applications.
Active in professional communities through the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) and International Society of Biomechanics in Sport (ISBS), he contributes to advancing biomechanics knowledge. His teaching portfolio includes Kinesiology/Biomechanics, Motor Learning & Developmental Movement, Skill Concept Development, and Nutrition for the Athlete.
Dr. Morgan mentors undergraduate researchers in the AMPA Laboratory, guiding them through biomechanical analysis projects that enhance understanding of movement mechanics in sports performance and injury recovery contexts. The laboratory serves as a critical training ground for future healthcare and sports science professionals.
