Dr. More's research examines the intersection of climate, environment, and public health through historical and contemporary lenses. Primary interests include:
- Climate impacts on disease patterns and pandemics
- Historical pollution reconstruction using ice core data
- Long-term environmental change and societal impacts
- Interdisciplinary methodologies combining scientific and historical evidence
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on climate-health interactions through historical case studies (Black Death, Spanish Flu), paleoclimatology techniques (ice core analysis), and examination of societal responses to environmental changes. Recent work emphasizes pre-industrial climate baselines and their relevance for contemporary public health.
As Director of the Honors College, Dr. More oversees specialized programming for high-achieving students across LIU's academic disciplines.
