Alexander Mitsos

Prof. Alexander Mitsos is a Universitätsprofessor for Process Systems Engineering at RWTH Aachen University's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering since 2012. He leads the Systemverfahrenstechnik group and directs the Institute for Energy and Climate Research (IEK-10) at Forschungszentrum Jülich. His research focuses on deterministic global optimization, energy systems, and sustainable chemical processes. Mitsos' academic lineage traces back to Prof. Roger W. H. Sargent via his PhD advisor Paul I. Barton.
