Alexander M Aiken

Dr. Alexander M Aiken is a faculty member at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, affiliated with the Antimicrobial Resistance Centre (AMR) and the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology & International Health. His research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, infection control, and public health interventions in low-resource settings across sub-Saharan Africa.

His work includes multi-country studies on hospital-acquired infections, antibiotic stewardship, and environmental hygiene, such as the EWASH Trial in Nigeria and MBIRA Study collaborations. Key methodologies include cross-sectional surveys, cluster randomised trials, and systematic reviews.
