Alexander Kolb

Prof. Dr. Alexander Kolb is an Honorary Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) since 2017, affiliated with the School of Engineering and Design and the Chair of Thermodynamics. He has held leadership roles in thermal engineering at DENSO Corporation, Kariya, Japan, while also contributing to academia as a lecturer since 2003.

• Education: Mechanical Engineering at TUM (1986-1992), Doctorate in Combined Heat Transfer (1996)

His field of expertise centers on refrigeration and air conditioning, with a focus on thermal management solutions for automotive systems. His industrial experience spans automotive air conditioning component development at Webasto Thermosysteme International and DENSO Corporation.

Since 2003, he has taught the lecture series "Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Technology" at TUM. Additional affiliations and responsibilities include leadership in the Thermal Engineering Center Northern Europe at DENSO, supporting German and Northern European automotive manufacturers.
