معرفی
Alexander Knebe is Associate Professor and Head of Unit at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). His core research addresses the formation and evolution of cosmic structures through large-scale numerical simulations.
Research Interests:
- Computational astrophysics and cosmological simulations
- Dark matter and galaxy formation physics
- Structure and evolution of galaxy clusters
- Intra-cluster light and diffuse stellar components
- Cosmic web identification and filamentary structures
- Semi-analytic and hydrodynamic modelling of galaxies
Across more than seventy publications (2017-2025), Knebe has led or co-led flagship simulation campaigns such as The Three Hundred and UNIT projects, exploring the assembly of clusters, the stripping of satellite galaxies, and the impact of primordial non-Gaussianities. Euclid-related papers highlight his involvement in next-generation survey science.
Laboratory & Collaboration Leadership: As Head of Unit within the Department of Theoretical Physics at UAM, he coordinates interdisciplinary teams working on high-performance computing challenges for cosmological applications.
