Alexander B. Bedny serves as Vice-Rector for International Affairs and External Communications at Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod since 2013, concurrently holding the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship in Science and Technology. His leadership spans strategic internationalization initiatives and academic governance.
His educational foundation includes dual 2001 qualifications: an economist degree in 'Finance and Credit' from N. I. Lobachevsky State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Roskilde University, Denmark. He advanced academically by earning the Candidate of Sociological Sciences degree in 2005, establishing his scholarly credentials in higher education systems.
Dr. Bedny's research critically examines university management sociology, institutional transformation dynamics, and internationalization frameworks in academia. His 40+ scientific publications analyze how higher education institutions adapt to global pressures and structural changes, with particular emphasis on sociological dimensions of administrative evolution. This work bridges theoretical sociology with practical university leadership challenges.
His distinguished career trajectory includes Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Students (2005), Head of the Center for Development of Innovative Entrepreneurship of Scientific Youth (2011), and Head of the Department of International Affairs (2012). These roles demonstrate progressive responsibility in shaping UNN's international strategy and youth development programs.
