Alexander Arapoglou

Alexander Arapoglou is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Finance at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, teaching risk management and applied investment management to MBA students. He brings extensive industry experience as founder of Aland Corporation and former leadership roles at Mizuho Capital Markets (treasurer and head of risk management) and Chase/Chemical Bank (derivatives trader and global risk management).

His research interests focus on derivatives markets, risk analysis methodologies, investment strategies, and capital market operations. Professor Arapoglou has developed metrics for trading, credit, and liquidity risk assessment during his banking career.

His professional background includes treasury strategy at Chase, financial analysis at Salomon Brothers, and management consulting for Accenture on large-scale industrial projects. He holds an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler and a bachelor's degree in engineering from McGill University.
