Dr. Alexander A. Hernandez is an Instructional Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Texas A&M University. He serves as Coordinator of Graduate Instruction and Co-Director of the Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program in sociology. His leadership roles emphasize mentorship and academic innovation.
He holds a Ph.D. from Boston College. His research focuses on Science, Technology and Knowledge; Sociology of Work; Aging and the Life Course; and Sociological Pedagogy. His 2009 publication in Teaching Sociology explores stand-up comedy as a tool for sociological insight.
Teaching responsibilities include courses like Sociology of Tech and Science (SOCI 210) and Death and Dying (SOCI 408). Office hours are managed via Calendly for Zoom meetings.
