Dr. Alexa Harris is an Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at the College of Liberal Arts, Norfolk State University. Her research focuses on Intercultural Communication, Digital Storytelling, Media Literacy, Popular Culture, and Rhetoric. She earned a master’s degree in Documentary Film and History from Syracuse University and a doctorate in Communication from Howard University.
- Research Interests: Explores intergenerational workplace dynamics, listening tours in organizational shifts, and cultural analysis of media.
- Projects: Contributed to the documentary The Harvest (PBS) and collaborated with The HistoryMakers Digital Archive as a 2023-2024 Innovations in Pedagogy and Teaching Fellow.
- Awards: Spelman College Top 40 Under 40 (2018), Digital Moving Image Salon’s Celebration of Excellence Award (2016).
