Alex Macario, MD, MBA is a Professor of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He serves as Vice-Chair for Education and has held leadership roles including President of the American Board of Anesthesiology. His academic career spans over 28 years at Stanford, where he founded programs like the Management of Perioperative Services Fellowship and the Stanford Fellowship in Anesthesia Research and Medicine.
