Alex J.A. Donkers

Alex J.A. Donkers is a Research Fellow at Eindhoven University of Technology's Department of Information Systems in the Built Environment. He leads research on semantic web technologies applied to construction informatics and smart city infrastructure.

Research focuses on:

• Linked building data and semantic digital twins
• Interoperability in construction data ecosystems
• Open-source tools for building information modeling
• Urban energy system optimization

Developed multiple open-source projects including LBDviz and BOP/OFO ontologies. Current work in FireBIM project harmonizes fire safety regulations across Europe using semantic technologies. Chair of W3C Linked Building Data Community Group.
