معرفی
Alex Feingold is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Binghamton University, where he has been since 1979. He holds a Ph.D. from Yale University (1977) and specializes in Algebra, Lie algebras, conformal field theory, and piecewise isometry groups.
His research explores the structural properties of Kac-Moody algebras, hyperbolic Weyl groups, vertex operator algebras, and their applications in theoretical physics. Recent publications focus on decomposition methods in hyperbolic algebras and connections between algebraic structures and conformal field theory.
Professor Feingold has advised several Ph.D. students on topics including branching rule decompositions in Lie algebra representations. His work demonstrates consistent engagement with fundamental algebraic structures and symmetry principles across mathematical physics.
Beyond academia, he maintains an active sculpture practice with exhibitions of mathematical art, including bronze castings inspired by knot theory and hyperbolic surfaces.
