Alex Berg

Alex Berg, M.Sc (cand.soc), is a Doctoral Researcher in Welfare Law at the University of Eastern Finland's Law School, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies. His research focuses on legal rights and access to justice for older immigrants and vulnerable populations in Finland, employing qualitative methodologies.

Research interests include human rights frameworks, socio-legal analysis of vulnerable groups, and policy analysis related to immigration, aging, and healthcare accessibility. Current projects examine barriers faced by older immigrants with dementia in accessing care services through interviews with professionals.

Active in research teams such as the Neuro-Ethics and Law Research Team and the Center of Law and Welfare, contributing to interdisciplinary studies on neurodegenerative diseases and social welfare policy.
