Alessia Concetta Marzo is a Fixed-Term Assistant Professor (RTDA) of Agricultural Hydraulics and Watershed Protection at the University of Catania's Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A). She is also the ERASMUS referent for the bachelor's course in Land and Landscape Planning and Protection since 2023, a member of the GreenLab research group since 2024, and a delegate for organizing the Sustainable Development Festival.

Research Interests:Alessia's work centers on wastewater natural treatments using constructed wetlands, lagoons, and storage tanks, with a focus on hydraulic properties, pollutant removal, and agricultural reuse. She has pioneered GIS-based methodologies for modeling wetland hydrodynamics and clogging impacts, and uses InVEST models for ecosystem services assessment.
Scientific Contributions:She has authored ~40 publications in international journals and conference proceedings, particularly on wastewater reuse, phytoremediation, and GIS applications. Her work spans national/EU projects, technical assistance to public agencies, and experimental field activities.
